No. IV · A potion of Obsession
Forbidden Ink
Signed in ink that never dries.
The House kept contracts no court would recognise: pacts of silence, of loyalty, of love promised past reason. Each was signed in a black ink the scribes brewed themselves — plum-dark, bitter, smelling of leather and iris and something underneath that no one would name.
Clients began asking for the smell rather than the contract. The scribes obliged, uneasily. Forbidden Ink is worn by those who want to be thought about at inconvenient hours. It works. That is the warning.
