No. VIII · A potion of Solitude
Cathedral of Sighs
Cold stone, white lilies, and everything left unsaid.
Beneath the House's laboratories stood the old cathedral itself — empty for a century, lilies left on the altar by no one anybody ever saw. The apprentices swore the air down there had a scent: cold stone, cold flowers, candle smoke long extinguished.
Cathedral of Sighs was blended for the House's own members. It was the scent they wore when they wished to be left alone with their work, and it is said no one was ever interrupted while wearing it. Solitude, after all, is also a kind of spell.
